UK National Health Service (NHS) staff have been reprimanded for sharing confidential patient data over WhatsApp. A doctor, nurse, and two healthcare assistants from a mental health trust in Essex were found to have shared "inappropriate" information about patients without their consent. The trust said that the staff had breached professional standards and had been subject to "disciplinary action". All four have since been given written warnings and additional training. NHS Digital is currently investigating the incident.
